The cornerstone of the Hops and Horsepower mission statement is to support our community through our love of car culture.   This year we have chosen the Community Care Clinic of Rowan County as our Charity.   The CCC is a 501c3 Non-Profit Medical and Dental Clinic Located in Salisbury NC.  They provide free medical and dental treatment, diabetes management, and preventative medicine to the undeserved in our community.     

100% of the sale of auction items, car show registration, raffle items will go directly to the CCC.   (Less Paypal fees.)

Further $1 for each beer sold will be donated to the CCC by New Sarum Brewery.

The event is completely funded and paid for by our support team and sponsors.  This allows every penny generated at the event to go directly to charity.

•  For every $1 donated, the Clinic is able to provide $8 worth of free medical, dental and pharmacy care

 

• In 2016, the clinic saw 1,200 patients (2,200 medical visits, 1,275 dental visits, and dispensed 20,000 prescriptions)

 

• 42% of patients are employed, but not offered health insurance.

 

• 98% of patients report an improvement in their health as a result of the Clinic.

 

• In 2016, 27 participants completed the eight-week Freedom From Smoking class. The total cost of the smoking habit:  9,855 packs (197,000 cigarettes) per year @ a cost of $59,130/year.

 

• The clinic has a robust diabetes management curriculum for each person diagnosed with diabetes that includes: medical management, education, exercise, healthy eating/food tracking and medical appointments with the physician and pharmacist.

 

• The clinic offers opportunities to shadow and provides internships for those wishing to pursue health related professions.

 

• The clinic is part of Healthy Rowan, a community collaborative focused on improving the health of all county residents.
